Entitled "Towards Economic Recovery — The Role of The Courts and Arbitration", the event was attended by key representatives from Dubai's preeminent dispute resolution institutions; The DIFC Courts, The Dubai Courts, the DIFC LCIA Arbitration Centre and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), and underlined the increasing levels of collaboration and cooperation that exist between these leading judicial authorities.
Commenting on the event, Sir Anthony Evans, Chief Justice at the DIFC Courts said: "The DIFC Courts are delighted to participate in a landmark event which further demonstrates the unity between the dispute resolution institutions in Dubai. It is difficult to overstate the significant role that an effective justice system plays in stimulating economic development and events of this nature are essential in providing a forum for learning, critical discussion and exchange of ideas for arbitration and dispute resolution."
"We are encouraged by the positive discussions that took place and are committed to further strengthening the relationships between Dubai's beacons of justice for the benefit of the UAE economy."The DIFC Courts is an independent court system established to uphold the provisions of DIFC laws and regulations. They provide the protection of a common law court system, with an internationally renowned bench of judges versed in commercial disputes, to ensure transparent and efficient justice in civil and commercial matters. Critically, the DIFC Courts are the only courts in Dubai that conduct legal proceedings in the English language and, as such, are highly valued by the international business community operating in the region.
