Fujairah, United Arab Emirates; 11 November 2022: The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance cooperation between the two parties and provide an opportunity to exchange information and experience in areas of common interest to reinforce their strategic goals and interests.
The MoU was signed by Zaki Azmi, Chief Justice, DIFC Courts, and His Excellency Ahmed Sultan Al Hantobi, Second Deputy Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors on behalf of His Excellency Sheikh Saeed bin Suroor Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The agreement was signed at the Chamber's headquarters in the presence of several officials of both parties. His Excellency Khamis Mohamed Al-Roli, Board Secretary, Khalid Khalfan Al-Kaabi, Treasurer, Saif Ali Saif Al-Attar, Musabah Mohamed Al-Mazroui, and Tariq Mohamed Al-Hinai, members of the Chamber's Board of Directors and Sultan Jamih Al-Handasi, Chamber’s Director General attended on behalf of the Chamber. On behalf of the DIFC Courts team, His Excellency Judge Ali Shams Al Madhani, Deputy Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts and the DIFC Courts team attended the ceremony.
His Excellency Sultan Al-Handasi, Director General of the Chamber, stated that both parties agreed to sign this MoU with the aim of cooperation and exchange of information in various areas of common interest that contribute to enhancing their interests and strategic goals.
He added that under the MoU, the DIFC Courts shall provide an effective and independent judicial system based on excellence in the implementation of judicial orders and Wills, which contributes to providing a world-class judicial service. He pointed out that this, in turn, would benefit economic growth and attract investments in the Emirate of Fujairah, and would also allow the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to efficiently and effectively fulfill its obligations and duties.
