DIFC Courts Rules of Court Order No. 6 of 2017 in respect of Part 56 of the Rules of the DIFC Courts – establishing a Technology and Construction Division
I, Michael Hwang, Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts, make the following Order: In exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 8(3)(a) of Dubai Law No. 9 of 2004, as amended; and after having reviewed:
Dubai Law No. 9 of 2004 in respect of the DIFC, as amended;
Dubai Law No. 12 of 2004 in respect of the Judicial Authority at the DIFC, as amended;
DIFC Law No. 10 of 2004, the DIFC Courts Law;
and
DIFC Order No. 1 of 2014 in respect of the Rules of the DIFC Courts:
1.This Order may be cited as Rules of Court Order No. 6 of 2017.
2. By this Order, I issue Part 56 of the Rules of the DIFC Courts (“RDC”) – establishing a specialist Technology and Construction Division (“TCD”).
3. In accordance with Rule 56.6 of the RDC, I hereby appoint Justice Sir Richard Field to be the Judge in charge of the TCD.
4. Part 56 of the RDC will come into force on 1 October 2017.
5. This shall first be reflected in the online version of the RDC, and subsequently in hardcopies published by the DIFC DRA Academy of Law.
