The DIFC Courts welcomes views and comments on the attached draft pro bono register guidelines (the ‘Programme guidelines’). Following adoption of the Programme guidelines, all of the services offered as part of the Pro Bono programme, ranging from basic advice to full case management and representation in proceedings, will be delivered to eligible individuals approved by the DIFC Courts’ Registry office. Subject to meeting the eligibility criteria, the individual will then be assigned a legal representative, selected from a register of volunteer practitioners, and offered legal assistance for the duration of their case, free of charge.
The Programme guidelines were developed following review of pro bono programmes in other jurisdictions and discussion with international experts. The DIFC Courts value all comments received on the draft guidelines and will endeavour to take into account all comments received when issuing the Programme guidelines.
The DIFC Courts invite interested persons to make representations with respect to the Programme by 4pm in Dubai on 20 August 2009.
Comments are to be sent to the DIFC Courts Consultation email: Consultation@difccourts.ae
