Public consultation on amendments to The Rules of the DIFC Courts (RDC) in relation to the addition of an Insolvency Rules Chapter

March 13, 2011 CONSULTATIONS

1. The DIFC Courts are proposing the appending of rules pertaining to insolvency (the “Proposed Insolvency Rules”) to the Rules of the DIFC Courts (the “RDC”), as a new chapter. The objective is to fill in the gaps vis-à-vis the DIFC Insolvency Regulations. The Proposed Insolvency Rules are informed by the insolvency regime in the UK, taking into account both established practice and current 2011 reforms.

2. The DIFC Courts would now like to seek feedback on the draft Proposed Insolvency Rules, via a public consultation exercise running from 10 February 2011 through 13 March 2011. Your comments are sought on the Proposed Insolvency Rules by 13 March 2011. Please email : consultation@difccourts.ae
